Born in Houston Texas, George learned to run printing presses at an engineering firm shortly after graduating from high school. This led to his moving to Austin, and spending four and a half years at The University of Texas. George realized that his printing skills made it easy to find part-time work while attending college, and there always seemed to be plenty to print. Majoring in General Business Management, the two worlds collided in 1987 when George bought his first printing press, and founded GPI, then known as General Printing Industries. In 1995, George married his long time friend, Helen Comellas, and they settled into central Austin. In 1997, GPI was incorporated and the name became General Printing, Inc. with George as the President and Helen as the Secretary/Treasurer.

In the Fall of 2001, right before a very fateful day, Helen realized her dream and attended the University of Texas School of Law. While waiting for Bar results in the spring of 2004, another test result came back positive and Thomas “Aidan” Kocurek was born on December 22. Helen, Aidan and George now live in a community southwest of Austin in Hays county where they enjoy the hill country life of fresh air and dark skies. George sees himself as a Printer by Trade, a Business Entrepreneur by Profession, and an Amateur Astronomer by Hobby. Helen started her own Law Practice in early 2007, Helen Kocurek, Esq., and Aidan is just having a great time being a little boy.
